Xbox 720 Speculation Arising

Xbox 720 speculation has been buzzing around since the original Xbox 360 was first released. However, taking a look at the progress that it has made over the past years, and the direction that Microsoft seems to be heading in, the speculations being made are beginning to become more direct.

The Xbox 360 magic started off with nothing special, pretty much. The graphical comparison between the PlayStation 3 is slim to nothing, in terms of difference. While the Xbox 360 is fairly weaker in specs, the visible difference is very hard to spot. Besides standard graphics, the main selling point for the video game console is its only service. Xbox Live is one of the most robust online experiences that is made available to gamers today. It offers friendslist, access to Twitter and Facebook, Netflix movie rentals and more. It is actively seeking ways to differentiate itself from the PlayStation Network constantly, which is why it improves so greatly. But what is left to branch into, for this amazing online service?

Well, if it is not implemented during the lifetime of the Xbox 360, on the Xbox 720 Microsoft will definitely find a way to incorporate a universal in-game footage recording device. Rumors of this were brought up a while back, claiming that Microsoft would add it in a system update, but it has not yet, so I doubt it will. But this is a necessary thing to have, because no console can boast of having such a feature, so this would be great for those video game players who have YouTube accounts and like to upload videos of their favorite moments while playing. Also, if this feature would be implemented, then it would most likely also have some sort of way to send your uploads to friends, which would also be great. Halo 3 can do this already, but that is video game specific. A universal video recorder will most likely be included with the Xbox 720.

Motion controls will most likely be included from the start as well, maybe an evolved form of project Natal, since it is quite primitive as it is right now. Another thought is that XNA will play a larger role, calling out to all of the modders in the community to create more interest in it, to become a modders console. A modder friendly console is a pretty necessary thing, because as it is now, Microsoft is a bit too strict with their user modding capabilities.

Those are some of what I consider to be the main ideas floating around as Xbox 720 speculation,a nd they all have a very good chance on being used.
