Xbox 360 Slim Detailed

Xbox 360 Slim

Xbox 360 Slim

Recently, an advertisement of the new Microsoft Xbox 360 model has popped up. The validity of this advertisement is unknown as of now. Assuming it is real though, what will be implemented into this new model?

First things first, the new model of the Xbox 360 has clearly taken up a new design. It has a sleeker design that is much sharper. The original Xbox 360 model has smooth curves, resembling that of a coke bottle, vaguely. This model looks sharp, edgy and is colored lack. The design does look a bit poor, in my opinion. It looks more like a modded PC case and lacks originality. But the slits seem to point towards the implementation of a better fan, so that is always good.

The advertisements claim that this model will sport a 250GB hard drive. A great amount of space for the Xbox 360, although there are already models available with this capacity, so it is nothing new, unless you have not upgraded to the Xbox 360 Elite.Apparently, there is also a built in wi-fi adapter. Now putting the system on par with the PlayStation 3.

The newer, cheaper, PlayStation 3 Slim was announced months ago by Sony. It’s release was met with great feedback and sales numbers. Everyone began assuming that Microsoft would hop on the bandwagon and release their own Xbox 360 Slim. However, the size of this console does not seem so much smaller than the original. It only seems to differ in style, possibly a bit thinner.

That is all the information that was included in the advertisement of this new slim console. It can be safely assumed that the price of such a product would be well below the price of an Xbox 360.  There would be no point in releasing a new console that does not differ from that of the current model, unless it had some sort of selling point. My guess, is that Microsoft would sell the Xbox 360 Slim at a price comparable to that of the cheapest selling PlayStation 3 unit.

Keep in mind that the PlayStation 3 slim was also leaked in advertisements well before it was officially announced by Sony. So this has a great possibility of being the true Xbox 360 Slim. Keep your eyes on E3 to watch out for any possible Microsoft announcements.
