The Next Generation Xbox 360 Speculations

The Xbox 360 was the first to enter the current generation war of the consoles, so they should have been fast at work onto the next generation Xbox to come. Not much is known, but through the subtle actions of Microsoft, there is room to speculate what will be included the next time around.
The current Xbox 360 focused on a superior online gaming experience and improved graphics. This was the smart way to go, generally, because with each generation there is a substantial increase in both graphics and game play. This time around, Microsoft was competing head to head with the Sony PlayStation 3, and it arguably lost. Although there is not a wide gap in the graphics, the Ps3 does have more horsepower which means more polys can be pushed and more post processing can be done. But the Xbox Live still stands to be the best online service to be placed on a video game console to date. There are a lot of funny xbox live experiences to be had, actually. It is simply unparalleled, often having fairly quick match making, stable, low downtime services. Not only that, but they also have several other components such as the Netflix service, avatar customization, music channel and much more. So you may be wondering what the next step for Microsoft to take for the Xbox console is. Well, that is pretty clear to many gamers.
Microsoft is going to be diving head first into the concept of innovation in the next generation. After everyone has seen the success of the Wii due to its “ground breaking” motion controller, everyone has been aching to hop on the band wagon. Microsoft even came up with Project Natal, which will be coming to the console and receiving support soon. A hands on gaming interface that allows you to have quite a lot of precision while playing your Xbox 360 in motion controlled games. Think of Project Natal as a testing grounds for what is to come from Microsoft in the future. If this test is successful, you can be sure that the big 3 companies will hop on the bandwagon and come to completely support the new motion control interface. Microsoft may be looking to refine the motion controls for an edge over the other two consoles in the next generation.
Besides motion controls, which is to be expected in the next generation by pretty much all of the consoles, it is believed that the next generation Xbox console will definitely make a reach out to those modders out there in the community. The one thing that Xbox Live has been hassled for is how there is no room for mods to download for any online games that you may possess. The addition of mods would help get the credibility of several gamers out there who made the mods, as well as give some a reason for replaying some of the games that they recently finished. The Playstation Network already offers this luxury to their gamers, so Microsoft, not wanted to be one-upped in anything they do, will most likely hop onto that opportunity as well.
The next generation Xbox already has some givens for it. It will either be the best looking, or second best looking console of the generation. With every generation, there has to be a noticeable increase in graphical power, and this upcoming generation will be no different. Microsoft seems to be pulling out all of the stops and they will be getting a custom made processor for the Xbox, with the intention of providing the strongest console out there. If this happens, the Xbox will have the best support of the generation. Microsoft is known for pushing out products that are easy to develop for, which is actually something the PlayStation 3 has been hassled for lacking. An easy to develop on system, coupled with strong graphical power and motion controls, would easily allow for Microsoft to take the next generation stage by storm.
Besides for that, one thing that Microsoft better make sure to do is make a stable console unlike the rushed Xbox 360. The red rings of death was a wide spread system malfunction that they denied for months, until they finally released a 3 year free warranty. If they make the same mistake twice, which it is advised that they do not do, then it is clear that they will lose basically all the credibility they have as a game console developer. The next generation xbox 360 will be sure to be the best console to grace the video game industry.
