Nintendo is pretty much the only console provider to have not implemented some sort of achievement system. Some speculated that the Nintendo 3DS would be the entry onto the bandwagon, and were wrong. However, the company explains why they have not embraced this now standard functionality.
Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, has said that the Nintendo 3DS will not be able to handle the Unreal Engine. He, admittedly, has not gotten a look under the hood of the 3DS though, so this may change.
