Activision is certainly enjoying the revenue generated by it’s record breaking title: Call of Duty: Black Ops. Can a rival publisher or developer ever hope to best a franchise that has so much momentum backing it?

Activision has recently been in the limelight for the way it dispersed and crippled the Infinity Ward development team, popular for its work on Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2. Bobby Kotick, the hated Activision CEO, believes that the team is still amazingly capable and that Treyarch is capable of pushing out content with as great a quality as Infinity Ward.

Call of Duty: Black Ops, for the PC, will ship with dedicated server support this November; GameServers will have exclusive rights for renting out the servers though.

Martin Hollis, one of the members of Rare who worked on the original GoldenEye for the Nintendo 64, has issue with Activision’s purpose for remaking this game.

Tim Schafer, the mastermind behind titles such as Brutal Legend and Grim Fandango, called Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzards boss and one of the most hated men in the video game industry, a “total prick”, “dick” and other remarks. While no mention of the insults were made, Activision will not have Bobby Kotick’s liking of games to be questioned.

The highly acclaimed title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, has racked in over one billion dollars ion revenue. Activision has announced that they will now be making the series more accessible.
