PlayStation 3 Cross-Game Chat Announced

Playstation 3 Headset
The PlayStation 3 Cross-Game Chat feature may have just been accidentally announced on the official PlayStation forums by a fairly reliable source. A feature that may be coming in the next PlayStation 3 firmware update.
This feature has been asked for and has been rumored to be in development for months. Cross-Game text chat has already been released in one of the previous Firmware updates, so the next logical step would be for the Cross-Game voice chat. Well, on the official Playstation forums, a Naughty Dog developer, ReklissAbandon, may have accidentally announced the planned release of the Playstation 3 Cross-Game chat.
Answering a question concerning the desire for an enemy spectating feature in uncharted 2: Among Thieves, he suggested that a cross-game chat could make this request unfair. For the simple reason, that if you are able to spectate your enemy and have cross-game chat enabled, you would be able to use it to an unfair advantage. ReklissAbandon also went on to say that the PS3 firmware update would address the feature anyway, by adding it on its own. So using that instead of in game communication gives the ability to cheat.
Though, that is not what makes this post so arguably true. What makes it seemingly true is how the post went on to be deleted a mere few minutes after its publish. As if to literally say that he made a mistake, and is hoping to cover it up by removing the post. That alone leads some players to believe that what he said was true and he made the mistake of leaking the information out. When Sony was contacted for the sake of confirming or denying this rumor, they gave the same old “We do not comment on rumors nor speculation” speech. Which is fairly true and believable and they usually stick by that anyway.
It is really unfortunate that all of the great information and possible announcements that Sony has for the PlayStation 3 ends up getting leaked to the public prematurely. News like this could rile up enjoyment in the heads of PS3 owners instead of being leaked and having the impact lessened.
