Panasonic Jungle Officially Announced and Detailed
The Jungle, Panasonic’s latest attempt at entering the video game industry, has now been confirmed and announced by the company itself. They came out with the official word and details on the promising portable console.
The Jungle’s official website says that this is a high demand mobile device concept that has been designed to cater to the online gamers. Panasonic then went on to boast of the crystal clear display, touch pad, keyboard and other online gaming necessities.
The Jungle, an online gaming based handheld system, was speculated to be able to run top tier, graphically intense, mmorpgs. Now, with the official word from Panasonic, this handheld is only known to be able to handle the browser-based MMO, Battlestar Galactica, from SyFy and BigPoint. There are hints that the insanely popular free-to-play browser game, Runsecape, will become available on Jungle. This would be a great opportunity for Jagex to expand their MMORPG to the console market.
Panasonic says, on the product’s official website, that they are working with the top online game developers to form connections and provide some new content through their platform. This will most likely translate to new partnerships and the ability to play various browser-based MMOs. If the portable console becomes popular enough, it may even begin to have custom games designed solely for it.
This serves to be great news for the hardcore browser based gamer. Although World of Warcraft gamers may have to wait a bit more before they can begin gold farming on the go. Panasonic has not given a release date for the Jungle, so keep an eye out for further information regarding the portable device.
