Nintendo 3DS is slated for release on February 26th of next year, in Japan. In March of next year, this upcoming handheld will go on sale in the west. A plethora details have been let loose regarding the portables final specs.

The Nintendo 3DS will be hitting Japanese stores for ¥25,000. The US equivalent is about $298. While this may be the official price for the Japanese release, the west may see a price that is a bit lower. Many gamers are expecting a price of $250.

The Nintendo 3DS comes with a charger stand, an AC adapter, a 10cm Nintendo 3DS touch pen, a 2GB SD card, and instruction booklets. This is a fairly solid bundle.. For those gamers whom are more hardcore than others; you can find yourself a good 16GB SD card for around $60, the price of a common video game.

Nintendo says that new functions to this console include a slide pad, a motion sensor and a gyro-sensor. Basically more features that will allow you to feel more connected to the video game that you play. These added features, coupled with 3D functionality, will provide for a truly in-depth and complex gaming experience, if done right.

The 3DS will have parental controls just as the Nintendo DSi and the DSi XL predecessors had.

The Nintendo 3DS works with game cartridges in the Nintendo DS series. The Nintendo 3DS has WiFi functionality, but not much is known about it as of now. Many fans are hoping for WPA support.

There is a game cartridge slot, a SD card slot, an AC adapter slot, and headphone jacks. Stereo speakers are in the expected locations on the top screen and it has a mic.

Cartridges for the Nintendo 3DS are the same size as those in the Nintendo DS family.
