Ninety-Nine Nights II Impressions

Ninety-Nine Nights II
Here are some impressions of the upcoming game Ninety-Nine Nights II. For those of you who are familiar with this series, it is a game that throws hundreds of enemies at you and you plow through all of them. It is as generic as an action game can get, a simple hack and slash game.
For those of you who are not familiar with the original Ninety-Nine Nights, you should definitely check out the demo available on Xbox Live. You will definitely get a feel for what time of game play this sequel will have to offer. While a lot of people are not particularly interested in it, because of its ease of play, there are a lot of players who like it. When going up against the many armies of enemies, you may find that you can often simply press one button and close your eyes, and the enemies will all be wiped out. But the use of combination’s and skills make the game more enjoyable. When I say combination’s, I mean ridiculously large combo chains. Ninety-Nine Nights II has made its appearance at the Tokyo Game Show of this year, in which gamers were now able to get a taste of what this sequel will have to offer. You have two attack buttons, a jump and a dash button, which allows you to keep the combos going on as long as you can manage. Chaining attacks from one group, dashing to the next nearby group, and keeping things going.
You are pretty much one of the strongest forces in the video game. You will find that individual enemies will pose little to no threat to you. But when these enemies appear in numbers of fifty to one hundred, you may find yourself having a bit of trouble. Especially when they have you completely surrounded, and you are being attacked from all sides. But this makes the game more fun, in my opinion. Killing hundreds of enemies can be fun at times, but after a while, it may start to get boring because there is little variety.
The game has a bit of an AI deficiency as seen in the original game as well. You will often see hordes of enemies waiting for you to finish off the current horde before actually advancing towards you. Other times, you will see that they wait for you to pass an invisible boundary before going after you. It looks a bit different from the original Ninety-Nine Nights, but it actually plays pretty much the same. So if you were a fan of the original, and you want more of the same, then you probably will not mind playing this sequel. However, if you played the original and were left disappointed, this game will not do much to keep you interested. I do not have much hopes for Ninety-Nine Nights II, but if you are a person who likes large hack and slash games, then you may enjoy this quite a lot.
