Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package Sells Over 2 Million

Modern Warfare 2 InGame
Activision and Microsoft are enjoying the large success of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package map pack, announcing that the new downloadable content has just shattered Xbox LIVE records, amounting over 2.5 million sold.
One million purchases of this content occurred within 24 hours of the release of the Stimulus Package according to as tatement from Activision. That is over $37 million USD in revenue in only one week on the market, showing that apparently not many people were affected by the high price. This is just one week on a single platform as well, Microsoft purchased the Modern Warfare 2 map pack as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360. Activision will probably see even larger profits once it is able to reach the rest of the fan base on the PlayStation 3.
This really makes you wonder how much of the Call of Duty fan base was opposed to the 1200 Microsoft Points price tag. Within a day of the release of the news on this price, there were masses of people claiming to boycott this release and announcing that they will not buy it. Even so, Activision has managed to break barriers and sell over 2.5 million within a weeks time, netting a large amount of profits. So either people got over their gripe with the pricing, or a majority of the fan base really does not care what price the ironically named pack, Stimulus Package, will go for.
For those of you who are a part of the statistic (the 2.5 million whom bought the Modern Warfare 2: Stimulus Package), Activision and Microsoft surely want to thank you.
