Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Strategies and Tips

Modern Warfare 2
The recently released Modern Warfare 2 has a robust multiplayer component that gives a lot of freedom in terms of allowing the player to determine their own play style. I am personally the stealthy, wait and watch, opportunist sort of player, which is what I will provide a strategy as well as some tips on.
For one, you have to choose what kind of stealthy Xbox Live player you will be. You can choose to be a run and gunner, which is generally those who use the sub machine gun. You can be the short to mid-distance shooter who uses the assault rifle. Or you can be the long distance knifing specialist, being the sniper class. But be forewarned, you may run into sniper issues in Modern Warfare 2 if you choose to be one. Simply because not having stopping power harms your range and damage exponentially. But which ever you choose, it does not matter, as long as you are enjoying yourself while playing. Your choice of weapons, perks and guns solely depends on your personality and taste.
I am accustomed to the stealthy sniper in multiplayer, so I will give my input on that, as well as why it can be such a successful class. First off, choose the cold blooded pro, scavenger pro, and ninja pro perks. With these perks, you are literally invisible in a sense. With cold blooded pro, when enemies aim at you, their cross hair does not turn red nor does your name show up. On top of that, you can not be seen in thermal, by UAVs, by AC130s and many other vehicles that are summoned as kill streak rewards. On top of that, with Ninja Pro, you have silent foot steps on top of being invisible in heartbeat sensors. This provides a deadly combination when it comes to playing in a match, for the fact that you have camouflage clothing on, and you are pretty much invisible to the eye if you move around correctly and sneakily enough.
This class requires for you to be knowledgeable about the map, enemy behaviors and good hiding spots. Find a large enough patch of grass, and you will literally be hidden from pretty much all enemy sights. I have had cases where enemies literally stepped right over my body, while I was hiding in a patch of grass in Afghan at base C. Now, the attachments on your gun judge the type of approach you will take while sniping and sneaking around. If you use the heart beat sensor on your gun, you will be able to take out your enemies quickly enough, as well as being able to scout the map in confidence rather than paranoia. If you use acog scope, you will most likely be able to defend yourself quicker and safer, due to the fact that you basically eliminate your need to hold your breath. If you choose thermal, which is what I recommend, then you are going to be a dead shot. You will find it pretty difficult to be able to miss an enemy while using thermal, since they have such a lively glow about them, it will make it easier to be able to differentiate what is scenery and what is a target.
Sniping in Modern Warfare 2 has taken a bit of a change, requiring you to be more accurate and timely, but it is easily able to become accustomed to. It was a smart move on Infinity Wards part, because it mimics real life situation more so than previously in Call of Duty 4. An example of this is how you now need to aim considerably ahead of the enemy in order to get a head shot, and I have seen much success in doing so.
What is so great about being such a stealthy player, or a ninja as I like to call it, is that you are able to shoot, kill and move on. That is part of what makes this class so fearsome. After killing your enemy in-game, you will often find that they go right back to the same spot after respawning in an attempt to exact revenge upon you. So all you need to do is move to a different area from which you can watch the spot you just left, and then kill the enemy again when they come. I have done this and have gotten 3 – 5 kills in a row from one person alone. I especially love when they drop a tactical insertion in front of my eyes and all I need to do is aim my throwing knife in that direction and kill them.
All in all, the simply strategy of mine when it comes to making use of a stealthy sniper class in Modern Warfare 2 is to make sure that you always keep moving after a kill. You may pick a nice spot in the grass or another concealed place to take refuge or watch the enemy, but if you plan on getting kill streaks, you need to make sure that the enemy has no idea where you are at any point in time. Except the instant before you shoot them that is, hah. But remember, the best way to figure out multiplayer strategies and tips in all of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is by playing throughout the game yourself and finding the most enjoyable and efficient way for you to play.
