Left 4 Dead 2

Valve has released a patch for the PC Left 4 Dead 2 that fixes a variety of bugs that occurred within the video game. The same fixes, more or less, will be coming to the Xbox 360 as well.

There were no ground breaking game made within the game though, just some small tweaks to the game play and the fixing of some bugs, In some cases, the hit boxes for the special infected have been altered and the spitter has been mildly made less effective.

A member of the official Valve forums pointed out the inconsistent hit boxes of the many special infected. A part of this patch is the is the fixing of this problem. The Charger, Jockey and Spitgter hit boxes have been updated to make them more consistent. The rules were changed for ghost placement in Scavenge Mode. The Player controlled Special Infected are not forced to un-crouch and lock strafe when they crouch attack. The Spitter spit that damages players on a moving elevator will fizzle quicker. The surviver and infected are allowed to rotate the camera while being attacked by a Charger or Smoker. Any smoker that drags a survivor to the end now gets the same cinematic flashlight as the Hunter and Charger.  A crash in the physics hve been fixed.

The player health on being revived after a Charger slam over a high ledge has been fixed as well as the versus scores not resetting after a vote to change campaigns. The pink glow on dead survivors have been fixed and being able to hold crouch while incapacitated to get better accuracy with aiming has been fixed. Player pushing against props to gain downward velocity and then taking falling damage when they let go of the forward key has been fixed. A helping hand has been prevented from getting stuck when extended and a case where an incapacitated survivor inside a rescue vehicle would trigger both the escape and round restart sequence has been fixed.

Quite an extensive list of updates, and many of them are not anything that you would immediately take notice of unless you were told. This was more of a subtle update, more of a fix rather than addition to content. However, real updates should be coming to L4D2 sometime soon, so you can expect to see it. Although it is not here yet, the Left 4 Dead 2 Xbox 360 patch will be coming soon to fix the same problems as did the PC one did.
