Insomniac Disappointed with Resistance 2

Resistance 2
Insomniac had high hopes for Resistance 2, the sequel to the PlayStation 3 exclusive Resistance: Fall of Man, but seems to think that the fans were over all left with a bad reception towards the game.
James Stevenson, the Insomniac senior manager, says that the long term reaction towards Resistance 2 was disappointing. The over all opinion of it was that it was a failure, maybe because of the high expectation or maybe the single player or multiplayer disappointed. Referring to the negative reaction like a dog turning on you, pretty much implying that they feel like they have lost some royal fans.
Personally, Resistance 2 just remained to be much more of the same that was offered in the original. The altered multiplayer offered a bit of refreshing experience, but it was pretty disappointing none-the-less. After reading some fan comments towards the game, I read that a lot of people were pretty annoyed at the multiplayer. Though, it seems that much of the reception that they received was from the NEOGaf forums. Which many users are calling a community of ill mannered players, who complain in order to get changes to the games they play. Many people are finding this as a bad sign, saying that video games developers are depending too much on the players, and less on the wisdom of the development team.
But in any event, it is a good thing that Insomniac cares about the thoughts of the players, because one of many complaints are how developers do not show any concerns for the will of the gamers. So their disappointment in Resistance 2 can be seen as a good thing, I suppose, since it will only lead to a better and well made sequel.
