Epic Mickey Originally Planned To Be Multi-Platform

Disney Epic Mickey
While Warren Spector’s Epic Mickey game is currently confirmed as a Nintendo Wii exclusive, that was not always the case. It was originally planned to be a multi-platform game.
He says that there has not been a game on the Wii that offers the kind of depth that Epic Mickey offers, in terms of interactions and player choices, so far. While this game will not be coming out for any other consoles, it was originally intended to. The game started out as a PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title. But the head of Disney Interactive called Spector out and asked how the development was going and what needs to be done to help push things along. Spector made it clear that he only wanted to focus on one console.
At the time, they considered developing the game for the two stronger consoles, then making a port to the Wii. But he insists that it would not work, it would need to be its own game. Many of the design ideas would not be able to be translated correctly to the Wii, so he was given the chance to make it a Wii exclusive. It is pretty far into the development cycle as it is, with many of its ambitious features already being praised and put out there in interviews. Not only that, but it is being considered for a remake into a comic book and movie series. Though nothing is confirmed yet, discussion about Epic Mickey being branched into a full fledged series have already started.
It seems that the Epic Mickey experience is one that Warren Spector aims to be one of the best yet, offering a chance for players to encounter moral decisions, alter the environment, change their relationship with other characters, and more. It has gone far past the general save the princess storyline, and went into something greater, with an indepth storyline and a view of Mickey Mouse that you have not seen before. It would really make sense to make this game into something more, whether it is a movie, comic book series, animated show or franchise. It has the qualities of being one anyway, since its storyline is so original and really can be extended into something more.
We do not know what the future holds for this ambitious future Disney game, but it is certainly shaping up to be what many of the gamers are considering one of the best games that the Wii will have to offer.
