Dead Space 2 Multiplayer Details

Dead Space 2
EA supposedly revealed some details about the multiplayer aspect of Dead Space 2 while at a GameStop conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Players will be able to control the Necromorphs in a deathmatch-styled combat against “soldiers” (players whom are similar to Isaac, I would imagine). EA also stated that there will be more multiplayer modes to be announced in the upcoming months.
This comes as welcome news, considering that Dead Space 2 multiplayer was first confirmed a couple of months ago via a job listing last year and a blurb in Game Informer magazine. EA’s John Riccitiello, the CEO, stated that this sequel will have impressively innovative online gameplay.
Speculation seems to point in the direction of EA allowing for scare tactics and strategy to rain over the online play. Players whom play as the Necromorphs may be able to use these tactics to defeat the soldiers, using stealth, the environment, and possibly numbers to defeat their enemy. I imagine that EA will try to make this experience as close as possible to the single player experience in order to make it seamless and truly innovative.
Pre-ordering Dead Space 2 at GameStop gets you a free Rivet Gun, and the downloadable Dead Space: Ignition for free.
