Crackdown 2 ‘Toy Box’ DLC no longer broken
Ruffian Games recently released new Crackdown 2 content in the form of DLC, the Toy Box add-on. It turned out to be a disfunctional release and actually took away peoples ability to play the game.
Ruffian Games gave a work around to fix the problem, telling players to clear the console’s cache, delete the DLC, delete their profiles, then re-download the DLC along with their profiles. This is an extremely unnecessary amount of work just to play downloadable content that you purchased for a game.
According to the developers at Ruffian Games, they have officially fixed the downloadable content. The issue was caused by a problem in mastering the DLC package. Now all you will need to do is delete it, re-download the game and that’s it.
If you have already purchased the Toy Box content, which costs 560 Microsoft Points, then I am pretty sorry that you have to go through all of this. If you have not yet purchased it, I definitely recommend you avoid both this content and this game.
While it is not as if this game has been particularly amazing in sales as it is, this issue certainly is not helping the games credibility. For those of you unfamiliar with this game, it is the sequel to what was a potentially promising sandbox game that took place in a big city. It is not a horrible game, by today’s standards, but it is very bland. I had trouble playing the game for more than 30 minutes without feeling like I have experienced the whole game already.
In any event, the Toy Box DLC for Crackdown 2 has been fixed by Ruffian Games and you are free to play it without the hassle.
