Bungie Rewards Original Halo PC Owners

Bungie will be rewarding long time, loyal, fans by giving out a visual unlock in Halo: Reach, coming this September of 2010.
Roger Wolfson, of the Bungie team, mentioned on the official Bungie message boards that those who have authenticated their Halo: Combat Evolved keys on Bungie’s servers will be able to use the key to unlock a “visual flair” for Halo: Reach. This unlock will not be from the game’s armory, but it will be a treat to those of you whom are hardcore fans.
To acquire this bonus, you will need your original CD key for Halo: CE and it will need to have been authenticated (assuming you’ve played online at least once before) before May 26th, 2010.
You may wonder, why choose that date? Why make it five months ago instead of some point in the future? This is meant to be a gift to the loyal gamers, not those trying to take advantage of a good opportunity. If they have changed this date to some point in the future, there would be a flock of people purchasing Halo: Combat Evolved or using key generators in order to be able to get the same benefit the loyal fans will get. So you should not bother purchasing the game, unless you are purchasing an aged CD key, which would work perfectly well.
No other details have been provided, but Wolfson says that solid information will be coming within the next few weeks as Halo: Reach crawls towards its release date.
