Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the latest gaming endeavor by Naughty Dog, which has you reprising the role of Nathan Drake in this sequel. The game has been touted to use 100% of the Playstation 3’s power, and is making a new and breath taking game play experience.
Uncharted 2 has received a couple of reviews from the top game review companies, and the reviews are perfect and near perfect all around. It is being given perfect reviews with reason. This game is currently shaping up to be one of the best experiences that this year will have to offer, and it most likely will be game of the year.
One of the highlights that I see about Uncharted 2 is it’s freedom of choice in gameplay. It is not a choice driven game, in terms of story line, but your options on taking out enemies is very varied. You can choose to take the sly route and kill your enemies in a stealthy manner, which prevents them from calling for back up, which lessens the amount of enemies you will fight. You can also just go rambo and kill everything that walks, which works too and would most likely make the gameplay more intense for you. The improved AI from the original makes this game more appealing in the gameplay department. Now you wil have a challenge when being pursued by enemies and progressing through the story. If you are seen, the enemy may do a detailed search of the area looking for you, which can blow your spot and thrust you into action. It is a great improvement that definitely takes away the ease of progression, depending on your difficulty.
The environments and graphics are obviously amazing and breathtaking. Possibly the best graphics to be on the Playstation 3, or any current generation console, to date. It is very detailed in the graphical department. It has amazing animation that makes it very believable, the environment fits and is quite well made. There are no complaints in terms of the look and feel of the game.
The online play is what is amazing, because you have all the flexibility and abilities of Nathan Drake. So you are able to climb up areas, hang off signs, and much more. The online play gets intense when you are in a fire fight with the other team, both hiding behind cover trying to kill the other person. Especially if you manage to flank them and completely take them out, you will really feel the sense of victory, which is key. You can attempt to be a bit sneaky while going around online, which would get some people more kills than others. It is all a game of skill, which will help you dominate. The variety of game modes will make Uncharted 2 a game to be enjoyed for years to come.
All in all, this game is an amazing release by Naughty Dog and possibly one of the best creations from them yet. If you are a Playstation 3 owner, then you simply must get this game if you are looking for some sort of entertainment. It appeals to players from many genres. If you are into stories in video games, then this game can appeal to you. If you are into games with great graphics, intense fighting, great animations, amazing gameplay, adventure, this game is for you. There is no reason not to like this game pretty much, except maybe for the lack of the Twitter function that was introduced. But even that is coming at a later date. So be sure to get Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, it is a game worth getting.
